They are taking Cindy off the antibiotics this afternoon or evening. Hopefully that will help with the nausea. So far the cultures they are doing with the spinal fluid are still clear - Good news!! They are still planning on doing the shunt surgery on Friday, but the platlete count will still have to go up.
God answers prayers!!!

Hi Kathy and everyone else,
Just a question. I'm wondering why they still need to do a shunt surgery if there is not infection in the spinal fluid. Is that because there still was infection in the shunt tubing ends? Just wondering if you could speak to that. We continue to hold the entire family in prayer! We were so relieved and happy to read some better news again today. That helps us all! Lyle is thoroughly enjoying having Tanner in his guitar making class at DDD. They spend quite a bit of time together! Two and a half hours every afternoon! Lyle is enjoying it. Praying for you all and wishing the Lord's blessing on the up-coming surgery.

Kathy,
What good news! I am so glad there is no infection in the spinal fluid! How far do the platelets have to go up in order for them to proceed with the surgery? I am with Mary on wondering why another shunt surgery is necessary. Why do they need to move them? Can't they just leave them in place and just put new tubes in if they have to be replaced and spliced together. Just curious! I just hate the thought of Cindy going through another shunt surgery! Thanks for all the updates, we look forward to seeing them daily...
Take care!
Joyce
